Six days. Excluding airfare about $1,000 per person. Three featured SEAtrails. In spare time: Petersburg museum, Norwegian dancing at the Sons of Norway Hall, Hammer Slough. Wrangell Nolan Center, Chief Shake’s House, Petroglyph beach
Day 1 – Fly on Alaska Airlines into Petersburg. Secure lodging for two nights.
Day 2 – Take chartered boat to LeConte Glacier to see harbor seals and calving glacier. Watch for Humpback Whales in Frederick Sound.
Day 3 – Rent a bicycle and ride the Mitkof Highway Recreation Corridor. Camp at Ohmer Creek Campground. Stop at Blind River Rapids and Man-Made Hole on the way. Walk the Ohmer Creek trail in the evening.
Day 4 – Ride to South Mitkof Ferry Terminal and board the Interisland Ferry Authority’s FV Stikine to Wrangell. Hike Mount Dewey. Stay at a bed and breakfast for two nights.
Day 5 – Ride the Nemo Loop Road bike route.
Day 6 – Return the bicycle and fly out on Alaska Airlines.
Follow the Haines Beer Festival website for festival dates. Six days. Excluding airfare up to $2,000 per person. Two featured SEAtrails. In spare time: Shop downtown Juneau, visit the Mendenhall Glacier, hike Mount Roberts, have a beer at the restaurant and ride the tram down for free (keep your receipt from the restaurant).
Day 1 – Fly to Juneau. Rent a car and secure lodging for two nights.
Day 2 – Hike Perseverance Trail then tour Alaska Brewing Company.
Day 3 – Ferry to Haines secure lodging for three nights.
Day 4 – Great Alaska Craft Beer & Homebrew Festival in Haines.
Day 5 – More Brew Fest and hike Mount Ripinsky.
Day 6 – Ferry back to Juneau on Alaska’s Marine Highway and fly home.
